Why We May Need Social Security
A low-income family would have to save $10,000 a year, with an impressive eight percent gain, in order to retire on the current Federal Poverty level at age 65. For some people, saving $4,000 a year is a difficult feat. Most Americans will need to have $2 million saved by their 65th birthday to live on a modest income at retirement age.
